Hidden in the rural landscape just north of downtown Clayton, St. Joseph's is a sprawling 255-acre property consisting of a 20-acre campus area, agricultural fields, open meadows, wetlands, forest, a pond and creek, and soon a 12.5-acre public park. There are six buildings of varying size and amenities, of which some have been completely renovated. The Drexel Campus Center has three wings of classrooms, a full size gym, and wholly outfitted cafeteria.

The jewel among these buildings is St. Joseph's Church, dating to 1896 and built in part by the first residents of the St. Joseph's Industrial School (See Our History).

For nearly eighty years, St. Joseph's Society of the Sacred Heart educated and trained African American boys from the inner city for successful careers in the working world. The property contains approximately 255 acres, of which 127 acres are in New Castle County and 128 acres are in Kent County, Delaware. Both the Kent and New Castle County parcels have been annexed into the Town of Clayton.
